European cooperation in thermal energy measurement
Together with other national metrology institutes in Europe, PTB has founded the "European Metrology Association for Thermal Energy Measurement e. V." (EMATEM) together with other national metrology institutes in Europe. The aim of this cooperation is the establishment of networks with a
central information point, a forum for the harmonisation of test procedures according to the new European Measuring Instruments Directive as well as a coordination point for research and development in the field of thermal energy measurement.
