On November 24 and 25, 2026, EMATEM e. V. will host the technical seminar“Fundamentals and Application of GM-P 7.2” at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Berlin. The seminar will focus on the test procedure for the calibration and metrological qualification of flow sensors used to determine thermal energy in heating and cooling systems.
The seminar is aimed specifically at managers and staff of heating and cooling testing laboratories. In addition to the theoretical fundamentals of GM-P 7.2, practical aspects will be covered at the PTB Berlin’s large heat meter test facility. Topics such as measurement uncertainty, calibration, test procedures, standards, and the evaluation of calibration results will be explained using practical examples. The speaker is Dr. Nicolaus Mathies, Head of Metrology and Legal Metrology at KROHNE Messtechnik GmbH.
The combination of technical presentations and hands-on demonstrations conducted directly at the PTB’s testing facility is particularly valuable. This gives participants the opportunity to understand the requirements of GM-P 7.2 using real measurement data and test procedures.
