The 21st International EMATEM Summer School took place from September 16 to 18, 2025 under the motto "Current topics in heat quantity and flow measurement technology". This year's event was once again a central meeting point for experts from the fields of metrology, standardization, research and industry.
After the general meeting with board elections on Tuesday evening, the technical programme started on Wednesday with exciting presentations on topics such as legal metrology, standardization work relating to EN 1434, test programs and interlaboratory comparisons. On Thursday, the focus was on measurement methods, practical reports and innovative research approaches. The exchange between industry and testing institutes was particularly valuable, leading to intensive discussions and new ideas for future projects.
New board elected
The new EMATEM Board was also elected at the General Meeting:
- Sebastian Baack was elected as the 1st Chairman of EMATEM.
- Dr. Jürgen Rose and Philip Holoch will take on the role of Deputy Chairmen in future.
Humphrey Spoor and Joachim Wien are stepping down from the Board after many years of dedicated work. We would like to thank them for their many years of support and commitment to the EMATEM community.
Networking and supporting program
In addition to the specialist presentations (which will soon be published here on the website), the varied supporting program, including a sociable evening with a brewery tour, offered plenty of opportunity for networking and personal exchange.
The EMATEM Summer School has once again shown how important this platform is for the transfer of knowledge and the joint further development of the industry.
